It is hard to believe that warm storm coming in a month ago. I am a month behind on uploading and now there will be a storm of uploads.

58/365: Sun Appears

I have been in the house two weeks, only out twice. Now the sun is coming out and will melt this snow away. Probably will not see any again until next year.

56/365 Cows Dwarfed by the Mountain

Sometimes I am just overwhelmed by the scale of things as I pass by. The hills are steep and rise sharply out of the meadows. The cows look very small against the mountainside

I have had such fun this week exploring tones. These images of the country side are almost black and white even without doing anything to them. I was always taught early on my first photographer teacher was all about capturing the shot and the full frame.

The shovel

This is my driveway I have been shoveling this week. I put a picture of my shovel. Here is the conversation I had with Emily:

Me: “It took me 6 Hours to shovel the Driveway which is .10 mile.”
Emily: “You need a better shovel.”
Me: “Here is a picture of my shovel.”
Emily: “You mean you really DO need a better shovel!”

48/365: Color without Color

[singlepic id=121 w= h= float=none]

We have a lot of snow for Tennessee. I am enjoying taking pictures of it while it lasts. It is fun that the theme this week is tones because it is one of my favorite subjects anyway. It is giving more impetus to my daily shots.

46/365: First Snow: Before Dawn

Uploading these now, a week later, I had no idea the snow that was in store. I thought this was a lot! The color of this is exactly as it was this early morning. It is often very very blue. The sun rises over the mountains to the right out of the picture, hence the pink reflection on the shed.

Tennessee landscape

Yesterday we went visiting for the first time on Thanksgiving; we went to three Thanksgiving dinners and oddly enough we arrived exactly at dinner time on each one. I posted some pictures below the landscape we drove through. An interesting and fun day. Many various incarnations of turkey; roasted, hickory smoked outdoors, deep fried…….oh and none of these were the places we actually visited, they are random shots of terrain. I wonder the story on the refrigerator house.
