MeCarol LeBaron

This is the seemingly obligatory “Bio” blurb. For more dimension, please see the rest of the About section, check out my work, and dip into my blog.

I have a BA in photography/printmaking and art history from Smith College, and an MFA from Rhode Island School of Design. My clamped wool and jacquard work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, and has been published in Surface Design Journal.

I have taught at RISD, Appalachian Center for Crafts, and East Tennessee State University, where I received a major research grant for my resist explorations on wool.

Currently I’m a professional artist and educator, teaching workshops and exhibiting my work. I teach Crafts and Western Tradition at Emory & Henry College, Art History at East Tennessee State University, and Sculpture at Virginia Highlands Community College.
